- Introduction: Come and meet Ellis Locke, Paleobiologist at ASU!
Ellis Locke is a PhD student in the Institute of Human Origins at Arizona State University. His research uses the paleobiology and paleoecology of Old World monkeys from the Early and Middle Miocene (23 - 11 million years ago) to inform our understanding of the divergence between Old World monkeys and apes. He is also involved in fieldwork recovering mammalian fossils from the Early Miocene of Kenya, as well as hominin fossils from the Pliocene of Ethiopia, where the earliest representative of our genus Homo (dated to 2.8 million years ago) was recently discovered. Come on down and meet him, and learn all about the fascinating world of paleobiology and paleoecology!
This event is included with the price of admission.
