Communications Building Electrical & Mechanical Upgrades

Communication BuildingThe Communications Building is home to the Mesa Fire and Police dispatch center. The facility contains vital radio infrastructure that both agencies use to communicate throughout the City. The project would modernize vital support systems that are essential to maintain 24/7 operations in all weather conditions.

The major systems that would be upgraded include:

1) Uninterruptible Power Supply - this power supply ensures the continued operation of mission-critical equipment during a loss of commercial power, until emergency generators start to provide power;

2) Emergency Generators - the generators would be upgraded and relocated out of the basement of the Communications building. This would improve reliability and mitigate the entrance of combustion by-products into occupied portions of the building;

3) Building Cooling System - the system would be upgraded to provide adequate and reliable primary and backup cooling to vital communications equipment.
