Police Holding Facility Improvements

The Mesa Police Department operates a small holding facility at the Police Headquarters building. This facility handles booking and short-term detention of prisoners arrested by the Mesa Police Department until their appearance before a judge. The facility is nearly forty years old and no longer meets the space needs of the Police Department.

This project would remodel the headquarters building to increase holding facility capacity. Improvements include converting a portion of existing interior space into four additional holding cells. The project would include demolition of employee locker room space. Construction of the new holding cells would include structural concrete walls, plumbing, electrical, and closed-circuit TV cameras for monitoring prisoners.
