Residential Submittals


Construction permits are required for most construction activity that occur on private property within the City of Mesa.  Examples include:

  • Tenant Improvements
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Mechanical
  • Site Development
  • Swimming Pools
  • Carports/Sheds/Garages
  • Additions/Alterations/Addendums


Construction of a new home requires 3 sets of plans

Remodel, addition and swimming pool projects require 2 sets of plans.

The standard turnaround time is 10 business days.  Residential plot plans are 5 business days.


The following expedited services are offered:

  • Normal expedite is 5 business days and costs 100% of the permit fee

  • Super expedite has a negotiated turn around time and costs 200% of the permit fee


    Required plan size is no larger than 24"x36".  Larger plans will result in an additional fee of $200 per plan sheet.
