Gateway
Employment Center offers excellent opportunities for new and
existing companies to grow. PHX-Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA),
which has three expansive runways along with a newly remodeled
passenger terminal, is one of the anchors of the area. The
airport is home to 35 aviation companies generating more than
$251 million in annual economic activity, including Hawker
Beechcraft, Fuji Chemicals and Banner-Gateway Hospital. The
Gateway are is also the
future destination of the Gaylord Entertainment Center, which
will be the largest destination resort and convention center in
Arizona.
The airport is a designated Foreign Trade
Zone (#221) giving area companies a significant edge in the
marketplace. Airport activity is set to increase significantly
in the future this, coupled with projections of over 500,000
residents living east of Gateway by 2020, is certain to contribute
positive impact to the area. Arizona State University Polytechnic and
Chandler-Gilbert Community College have campuses adjacent to the
airport,
providing a well-educated workforce. ASU Polytechnic is
currently home to more than 10,000 students and features
thousands of feet of laboratory space.
