Porter Park Playground Renovations
A public meeting was held on September 25, 2013 at Eisenhower
Center for Innovation to allow citizens to view renderings of the park and
Construction for this project began April 14, 2014, with a
community volunteer work day on April 26, 2014. This
project is estimated to last approximately one month.
The City of Mesa is developing plans to upgrade the playground
equipment at Porter Park. The old playground equipment
will be removed and replaced with new playground equipment and
new play area surfacing.
This project is funded through the voter-approved 2012 Parks
Bond Program and a grant from the national nonprofit
organization, KABOOM! Through the KABOOM! grant, the City
of Mesa will initiate a "community-build" where neighbors and
community groups will assist with the installation of part of
the new playground.
