Project Details

This project, the City agreed to construct certain infrastructure improvements (utilities and streets) in the First Solar Development Agreement approved by Council June 6, 2011.  The City's commitment includes half-street improvements along the frontage of the proposed First Solar development and utility improvements within Elliot and Signal Butte Roads.  The improvements include asphalt pavement, sidewalks, street lighting, storm drainage, water lines and landscaping.  GMP No. 1 awarded August 22, 2011, and now complete, included wastewater and water improvements in Elliot Road.  This GMP is for the construction of roadway improvements on Elliot Road and roadway and water line improvements in Signal Butte Road.

The roadway improvements are necessary for the successful operation of the proposed First Solar project and the water lines are being constructed to coincide with final paving of the roadway and to accommodate the near future equipping of Desert Well 18.  All improvements comply with City infrastructure master planning objectives for the surrounding area.
