SPOT THE TOT
I CAN PREVENT DROWNING!
During
the month of August, Mesa Fire Department asks you
to join them in recognizing the impact each drowning
and near drowning incident has upon family, friends,
and emergency personnel in our community.
A recent study suggests that 1 in 8 Arizonan’s know
someone who has been involved in a drowning
incident. Wear your purple ribbon to show support
and increase education on effective prevention of
future incidents.
Prevention starts by combining the ABC’s of Water
Safety
A – Adult supervision at all times for
children, even when you do not plan on being around
water areas
B – Use Barriers and fences as a second line
of defense
C – Classes for all, swim classes at
appropriate ages for all children and CPR for all
care givers
If you would like a free purple ribbon or water
safety information, contact the Mesa Fire Department
at 644-2294 or 644-2200.
