Mesa Fire
and Medical Department
Dispatch & Deployment
Congratulations to Doreen Wassick,
APCO International 2012 Trainer of the Year!
Mesa Regional Dispatch Center
On July 1, 2010 Mesa's Police and Fire Dispatchers split into separate
units. There are now 22 full time Fire Dispatchers and 2 part-time
Fire Dispatchers that have been trained to more efficiently deploy the
proper resources per 911 call.
The split coincides with the deployment of the department's transitional
response vehicles. TRV's are two person crews that provide coverage for
non-emergency medical calls. The Fire Dispatcher's specific and
detailed training will determine which resources to send per call.
The Deputy Chief in charge of Dispatch & Deployment is Kasey Beal.
His staff includes 3 Shift Captains, a 40 hour Captain, administrative
support and the dispatchers.
