Redistricting 2011
Redistricting Plan Recommended to Council
(Commission Vote: 3-2, with Commission members
Villanueva-Saucedo and Hines voting nay)
The City of Mesa is required to revise the boundaries of the
existing six (6) Council Districts to reflect changes in
population and demographics following the 2010 Census.
Current district map
Because the population balance in Mesa
shifted between 2000 and 2010, the City is undergoing a
redistricting process, led by a five-member Council
Redistricting Commission, with the assistance of a consultant,
National Demographics Corporation.
According to the 2010 U.S. Census, Mesa’s
population increased from 397,760 to 439,041.
