Mission
Provide the tools and knowledge to help leaders at all levels
of the City increase productivity and cut costs while
maintaining the quality of their service.
Services Provided
Process Improvement Initiatives
MPA provides City Programs expertise and guidance in the area of
process improvement utilizing management tools such as process
mapping, Lean, Six Sigma, Baldrige, and many other methodologies
used to increase effectiveness and efficiencies.
Performance Management
Performance Management is the system of tracking operational
performance against targets and benchmarks, allowing the
identification of opportunities for improvement.
Surveys
MPA provides guidance on how City organizations can create
surveys to capture the "voice of the customer" or employee
feedback.
MesaStat Forums
MesaStat forums are open discussions where the quality,
efficiency, and effectiveness of a Program are candidly
evaluated and monitored. Senior Program Staff and City Executive
Staff, with the authority to make policy, budget, and procedural
changes are active participants in the process.
Operational Planning
Our Mayor and City Council have defined five Strategic
Initiatives that encapsulate their long term direction for the
City. Annual Program operational plans then identify the action
plan and personnel, materials, and capital items needed to
conduct that work for one year. The operational plan identifies
who will do what, with what resources, in order to carry out the
Council’s direction. These plans also identify a means to
evaluate progress toward, and achievement of, the desired
outcomes of the work conducted.
