Physical Fitness

Mesa Police Academy

Becoming a Police Officer for the Mesa Police Department has many challenges.  One challenge is personal fitness.  Whether you are a candidate or recruit, being physically prepared will assist with your performance during the testing process and in the Academy.

The physical performance examination will be administered to those candidates who successfully pass the written examination.  Applicants will be scheduled for the physical performance evaluation after the completion of the written exam. The physical performance evaluation will take place as early as the following day of the written examination and will continue throughout the week as necessary.

The physical performance examination will consist of the following:

The physical performance examination is designed to evaluate a candidate's overall physical condition. The above listed requirements are a minimum standards list. If you do not meet minimum standards for the test, you will have to start the Hiring process over again during our next testing session.
