Preserve the Rights of the Disabled
If you wish to help ensure that parking spaces designated for
the disabled remain available to them, please join our
Disabled Parking Enforcement team! You will patrol
public parking spaces at malls, stores, apartment complexes and
other businesses for vehicles not legally parked in spaces
reserved for the disabled and write citations for violators. If
a violator chooses to challenge your citation through the court
system, you will be called upon to testify in court. You may
drive your own vehicle and receive mileage reimbursement, or if
you drive a department vehicle, you will need to complete Mesa
PD's Defensive Driving training course.
Desired Skills: Ability to deal tactfully
and professionally with persons in potentially emotional
circumstances; may utilize own means of transportation or a
department vehicle to patrol public parking lots; ability to
accurately and legibly complete parking citations.
Special Requirements: Must possess a valid
driver's license.
Hours Needed: Any time.
