Project-based Voucher Program (PBV) is a site-based rental assistance program. The purpose of the PBV program is to provide additional housing opportunities for very low- and extremely low-income families and individuals. The PBV program attaches rental assistance to specific housing units in approved properties that are determined to be decent, safe, and sanitary housing.
All regulations and policies for the Housing Choice Voucher Program will apply unless otherwise noted in the City of Mesa Housing Authority Administrative Plan.
Each of the properties that have been assigned project-based vouchers will have their own waiting list.
Eligibility for PBV you will need to meet one of the following:
- Elderly families or individuals
- Disabled families or individuals
- Families needing supportive services
Additional eligibility requirements for assistance:
In addition to the eligibility criteria, City of Mesa Housing Authority will complete a criminal background check and sex offender check on all household members 18 years or older, and check if any household member has a debt to any Housing Authority. There may also be certain verification requirements on waiting list preferences that must be met.
- Annual gross income
- US citizenship or eligible immigration status
- Documentation of social security numbers for all family members
