The City of Mesa plans to invest more than $2.5 million in voter approved funds over the next few years to install sewer lines in neighborhoods that currently use septic systems.

In March/April of 2015, surveys were sent to homeowners throughout Mesa’s wastewater planning area to gauge interest in converting from private septic to the City of Mesa sewer system. The survey results are displayed in the table below.

*Survey areas not displayed in the results table were previously surveyed and evaluated in 2013.

The Water Resources Department considered the survey results along with feasibility, cost, homeowner participation and other factors to determine future sewer projects. Area T and a portion of Areas P and C have been selected for sewer projects. Residents will be notified regarding neighborhood meetings and project details. See Area C map, Area P map, and Area T map.

Financial assistance to connect to the sanitary sewer system may be available to qualifying Mesa homeowners through the Housing Rehabilitation Program.

Areas not selected at this time may be considered for future projects as funding becomes available.
