| The Mesa Fire
and Medical Department Cadet Educational Program
occurs September through June and is a youth
educational program of the Mesa Fire and
Medical
Department designed for males and females
aged 15 through 18. The Cadet program
provides the means and opportunity for
participants to learn skills applicable to
the firefighting profession.
The Cadet learns about the Fire Service
and, in turn, volunteers time to the City of
Mesa.

- Develop team building and leadership
skills
- Understand the firefighter-recruit
testing process
- Learn basic firefighting skills, CPR
and first aid techniques
- Participate in physical fitness
- Become familiar with fire equipment
and apparatus
- Ride along on fire apparatus (Only
those that complete the program)

Meeting Dates, Times & Location

Event Schedule
Most meetings are held at the
Fire Public Safety Training Facility
located at 3260 North 40th Street, Mesa.
The meetings will include class room
training as well as physical fitness
training, practicing firefighting
techniques and performing emergency medical
skills. Participation will require physical
activity.
Other Activities
The Cadet Program also participates in
community service events including fund
raising and public education activities.
Participation in these extra activities is
not required, however, members are expected
to participate when available.
