Mayor's Youth Summer of Service will return next summer!

The Mayor’s Youth Summer of Service (MYSOS)  is a series of service-learning projects held throughout the month of June that are especially designed for students entering grades 9-12.

In 2010, MYSOS won the Harris Wofford Award, Youth Service America's highest honor, that recognizes people and organizations who embrace Senator Wofford's vision of "making service and service-learning the common expectation and the common experience of ever young person in America."  

Our goal is to introduce teens to the variety of service opportunities available within their community.  We also encourage them to continue their commitment to community service throughout the year by volunteering their time to the organizations and causes they support.

During the summer of 2014 we had 49 high school students participate from all over Mesa. They served at 11 different agencies and volunteered for a total of 484 hours.
