Make a Difference Day

Make a Difference

Make a Difference Day is the most encompassing national day of helping others -- a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Created by USA WEEKEND Magazine, Make A Difference Day is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of every October.

Over 1500 volunteers are expected to participate in more than 50 Love Your Block projects across the City of Mesa as part of National Make a Difference Day 2014.   Residents, neighborhood groups, local businesses, church groups and City of Mesa staff volunteer for a variety of beautification and cleanup projects.  Examples of service projects include painting walls and curb numbers; cleaning up parks, alleys and canals; distributing neighborhood resource bags and helping residents who need assistance with painting and landscaping.
