Overview

Our pools provide fun, safe, and quality aquatic programs for residents and visitors. Aquatic Centers and neighborhood pools offer water fun, double as water classrooms, and even provide summer jobs. Whether you’re looking for adult water exercise, youth swim teams or searching for a unique venue to host your next event, we offer affordable recreation and leisure opportunities for all.

Public Swim

Public swim is available starting Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Hours vary by location.

Passes are only valid during Public Swim hours at each facility.

Swim Lessons

Swim Lessons are offered in the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons. To help you determine what class you should register your child for, review the table below for a quick look at what skills your child should be able to perform at the different class levels.

LEVELS	REQUIREMENTS
Parent/Tot (6 months-3 years)	Parent/Guardian must be in water with child
Level 1 (3-6 years)	Comfortable in water without an adult and able to put face in water
Level 2 (4-8 years)	Submerge head underwater, complete assisted back and front floats and glides
Level 3 (5-9 years)	Kick on front and back, alternating arm and leg action, unassisted for four to five strokes
Level 4 (6-12 years)	Swims 10-15 yards freestyle and backstroke, comfortable in deep water
Level 5 (7-13 years)	Swims 25 yards freestyle, backstroke, elementary backstroke, and completes a kneeling dive
Pre-Teen Beginner (10-14 years)	Little to no swimming experience
Adult (15+)	Little to no swimming experience

Pool Rules

The policies, rules and regulations are in place for the comfort and safety of all guests. These rules are in addition to rules and regulations posted at each aquatic center. Please review these regulations when you visit any of our facilities.

Swimming Pool Rules

Obey lifeguards at all times
No loitering in the bathrooms/changing areas
Use of pool slides require swimming attire without rivets
Do not leave valuables unattended, the City of Mesa is not responsible for lost or stolen items
No glass containers or alcoholic beverages
Small coolers are allowed and are subject to inspection before entering the pool area
Food and beverages must remain in snack bar and/or grass area
Those who are not completely potty-trained MUST wear swim diapers
Swimsuits only in the pool, no denim or street clothes allowed in the water
Children under the age of 8 will be wrist banded for safety and lifeguard recognition
Parents/Guardians are responsible for their children, lifeguards are present to ensure safety and respond to emergency situations
Stay within arms-reach of those under 8 years old
Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied and attended by an adult or responsible teenager (16+)
At facilities where lockers are available, locks are not provided
Only U.S Coast Guard approved flotation devices are allowed, no arm floaties
No smoking or e-cigarettes/vaping allowed
Sunscreen is advised, no suntan oil
No swearing, intimidating or threats of any kind, physical or verbal violence will not be tolerated
Only service animals are allowed in the facility, no pets

Diving board and site specific amenity rules are posted at each facility.

Behavior Guidelines

Kindness, consideration, and courteous behavior is appreciated and expected
Unacceptable behavior may result in suspension
Unacceptable behavior includes but is not limited to:
- Verbal abuse
- Intimidation
- Criminal Damage
- Disorderly Conduct
- Profanity/Threats
- Harassment
- Under the influence of alcohol/illegal drugs
- Threatening or jeopardizing the health, safety and/or wellbeing of others

Brimhall Aquatic Complex

Located within the Franklin at Brimhall Elementary School property. South of Baseline, just west of Higley.

Carson Aquatic Complex

Located north of Carson Jr. High School on Westwood between University and Rio Salado.

Fremont Aquatic Complex

Located behind Fremont Jr. High. Just east of Power and South of Brown.

Kino Aquatic Center

Kino is located next to Kino Jr. High School on Horne, just south of Brown.

Mesa Aquatic Complex

Located just south of Mesa High School, north on the northeast corner of Southern and Harris.

Rhodes Aquatic Complex

Located behind Rhodes Jr. High School, just north of Baseline on Longmore

Shepherd Aquatic Complex

Located just north of Shepherd Jr. High. North of Brown on Alta Mesa Drive

Skyline Aquatic Center

Located at Skyline High School. North of Southern on Crismon.

Stapley Aquatic Complex

Located in the back of Stapley Jr. High. South of McDowell on the Northeast corner of 32nd Street and Hermosa Vista Drive.

Lap Swim, Water Exercise & Flow League

Lap Swim Info

Pre-registration for a lap swim lane is highly encouraged to ensure your spot. Drop-ins will be accepted if there is available lane space.
Register Online to sign up.
Lap swim blocks are one hour long and there will be 12 to 16 max swimmers per hour. Lanes may have up to 2 people during reserved times.
Lap Swim lanes available are determined by facility programming and enforced by staff onsite.
Lap swim is for individual community use only. Lanes cannot be rented as part of a fitness group or team.
Lanes can only be used for lesson/instruction by City of Mesa Staff.
Pre-Registration for lap swim must match the name of the participant who checks in to swim.

Aquatic Teams & Specialty Lessons

The Seasonal programs below are offered in the summer and provide a great opportunity for children to develop and learn about the different Aquatic Sports.

Aquatic Teams

Competitive Ruling: any athlete participating in any USA sanctioned, YMCA, or any other organized aquatic team/program after May 1 will not be eligible to compete in the City summer recreational team programs. Refunds will not be offered to violators of this rule.

Second sport discount only applies for the same child who is enrolled in more than one recreational team sport in the same summer season.

Specialty Lessons

Class	Description
Private Lessons	This class is an opportunity for one-on-one instruction for any skill level or ability. Goals are set with the instructor and swimmer (or their caregiver) during the course of the lesson. Participants must be 3 years or older and potty-trained.
Artistic Swim Lessons	This class focuses on the fundamentals of artistic swimming. Participants will work on the foundations which include treading, basic figures, techniques, and safety. Participants must be 6 years old and must be able to swim comfortably in deep water for enrollment.
Dive Lessons	This class focuses on the fundamentals of springboard diving. Participants will work on the foundations which include hurdles, safety, basic water entries and competitive dives such as pikes and straight dives. Participants must be 6 years old and must be able to swim comfortably in deep water for enrollment. Coaches will expand teaching based on individual diver ability.
FlowRider Lessons
Water Polo Lessons	This class focuses on the fundamentals of water polo. Participants will work on treading, ball handling, passing, defending, and safety. Participants must be 6 years old and must be able to swim comfortably in deep water for enrollment.
