Refunds

We always hope you are having a great time in our parks and activities. However, the lists below provide information for when you are entitled to a refund. If you have questions, please contact parksrecinfo@mesaaz.gov or call 480-644-7529

Activity Registrations

General Programs (Adaptive, Adult, and Youth Sports Programs, Special Interest)

A full refund (minus any non-refundable fees) will be provided up to two business days before the start of the activity. All refunds of instructor fees must be negotiated between the participant and the instructor.

Youth Sports Teams & Leagues

A transfer or refund (minus any non-refundable fees) will be provided up to five business days before the activity begins.

Adult Sports Teams & Leagues

A transfer or refund (minus a $50 - $100 nonrefundable fee) will be provided up to five business days before the activity begins. No changes or refunds are allowed within five business days of the activity’s start date. (This also applies to teams who are removed from the league for registering in a lower or higher division than approved.)

Aquatics Programs

  • Swim lessons, water aerobics, and FlowRider league: a transfer or refund (minus non-refundable fees) will be provided up to the end of the second meeting of the activity.
  • Swim teams: a transfer or refund (minus non-refundable fees) will be provided up to 5 days after the start of the activity.
  • Aquatics passes, season packages, Dive-In Movies, and Special events are non-refundable.
  • For Swim Lessons and Water Aerobics, there will be a prorated refund after three missed classes for those classes missed due to inclement weather or cancellations by the City of Mesa.
  • Lifeguard training and WSI certification a transfer or refund (minus any non-refundable fees) will be provided up to seven days before the start of the activity.
  • Lap swim is non-refundable; changes to reservations must be requested prior to the start of the reservation start time.

Camps & After School Programs/Field Trip Programs/Community Outings

A transfer or refund (minus any non-refundable fees) will be provided up to seven days before the start of the activity.

Tennis Clinics/Tournaments and Leagues

A transfer or refund (minus any *non-refundable fees) will be provided up to seven days before the start of the activity. Activity transfers are allowed up to 48 hours before the start of the activity. 

 

Court Reservations (Pickleball, Sand Volleyball, Tennis)

Court reservations are non-refundable. Any changes to court rental permits must be made at least one business day before the rental start time.    

Tennis/Pickleball Tournament Reservations 

In the case of a cancellation, refunds are given according to the following schedule:

30 days or more prior to the event Full refund minus non-refundable fees.
29 – 15 days prior to the event. 50% of the total rental fees
14 days prior to the event *No refund

*This includes multi-date reservations that occur over weeks/months.

 

Pool Reservations/Pool Classrooms and Party Rooms

Pool Reservations

Attendance modification requests must be made two weeks prior to the event date to ensure staffing requirements can be met. Pool reservation cancellations will receive a refund minus a $25.00 non-refundable fee for cancellations requested up to two weeks before the reservation date. No refund will be granted within two weeks of the reservation date.  

Rhodes Party Room and Swimming Pool Classroom

Reservations canceled less than one business day before the event are non-refundable. All refunds are subject to a $10 nonrefundable fee.  

*We reserve the right to close pools and/or cancel reservations due to safety or weather issues. Pool closures due to safety and/or weather issues will be refunded in full.  

 

Ramada and Pavilion Reservations & Open Space Permits

Ramada reservations, and open space permits are non-refundable, except when hindered by severe weather (hazardous conditions produced by thunderstorms, damaging winds, tornadoes, large hail, and flooding. Please note: Temperatures that are above average are not considered severe weather conditions). In the event of severe weather, permitholders may request a refund or date change before the start of the event.  

Event modifications may be requested up to the final Thursday before the reservation date. Modifications may include: 

  • Date change (new date must fall within 12 months of the original permit date) 

  • Location change (Moving to a larger ramada will increase the price) 

  • Adding special permits to a reservation (e.g., beer and wine permit, equipment permit, etc.) 

  • Adding additional hours (Refunds will not be issued for a reduction to the time reserved.) 

 

Recreation Center Facility Reservations

At the time of booking, a 50% down payment is required. All fees must be paid 30 days prior to the event. Full payment is required at the time of reservation if the event is booked within 30 days. In the case of a cancellation, refunds are given according to the following schedule:

Public Field and Sports Complex Reservations

Sports complex reservation deposits are non-refundable. Public fields and Sports complex reservation fees, staffing fees, and facility preparation fees will be refunded according to the following schedule:

*It is the responsibility of the Client to determine accurately the number of fields and timeframe of usage. Unused fields or games/practices ending early will not be refunded. Venue playability is at the sole discretion of the City. The City of Mesa reserves the right to close the venue or cancel reservations due to safety or weather issues. Venue closures due to safety and weather issues will be refunded in full. Field Conditions can be ascertained by calling the weather hotline at (480) 644-2765.
