Mesa plans to improve Broadway Road from LeSueur to Spur. The consultant Kimley-Horne has been awarded the contract to design the improvements.

The scope of work for the project includes:

  • Reconstruct Broadway Road starting from LeSueur on the west to Spur Street on the east. Reconstruction includes full depth pavement reconstruction, new concrete curb and gutter, new concrete sidewalk, new ADA ramps and driveways up to the R/W throughout the corridor.
  • Reconstruct the Stapley Drive intersection at Broadway Road with added right turn lanes on all four approaches.
  • New traffic signal equipment on Broadway Road at the intersections of Horne, Solomon, and Stapley Drive.
  • New Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB) at the Eagles Park/Elementary School crossing near Fraser Drive.
  • New pavement marking and signing within the limits of roadway reconstruction.
  • New street lighting and conduit within the limits of roadway reconstruction.
  • New landscape and irrigation improvements within the limits of roadway reconstruction.
  • New storm drain and roadway inlets within the limits of roadway reconstruction as needed. Also new storm drain in Stapley Dr. between Broadway Rd. and 8thAve.
  • Transmission and distribution water line replacement within the limits of roadway reconstruction.
  • High pressure and intermediate pressure City gas line replacement within the limits of roadway reconstruction.
  • Underground conversion of existing City 12kV facilities on the north side of Broadway Road from LeSueur to Horn.
  • Underground conversion of existing SRP 12kV facilities on south side of Broadway Road from LeSueur to Horn. (pending available funds)
  • Private irrigation relocation, as needed, within the limits of roadway reconstruction.
