Why is this project important?
The Central Mesa Reuse Pipeline is needed to deliver reclaimed water to the GRIC in exchange for vital potable water supplies. This exchange helps the City of Mesa bolster its water portfolio with an additional 8,000 acre-feet of Colorado River water each year.
How was the pipeline alignment selected?
Several factors determined the pipeline alignment including: the most direct route, cost, maintenance, and minimizing construction impacts.
What is reclaimed or reuse water?
These terms are used interchangeably for wastewater (sewage) that has been treated by a water reclamation plant to the highest standards for beneficial reuse.
