Volunteer Crime Scene Specialist

Volunteer Crime Scene Specialists work closely with Crime Scene Specialists to assist the Crime Scene Unit.  Duties of Volunteer Crime Scene Specialists include processing crime scenes such as stolen vehicle recoveries, vehicle burglaries, and non-injury/minor injury accidents, identifying, collecting, and preserving evidence including swabs for DNA, latent prints, and evidentiary items left at scenes, and photographing routine property crimes. They also establish and maintain records and generate reports.
