Real Time Crime Center

The Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) is a state-of-the-art operations center that serves as the Department's information hub, supporting public safety efforts to prevent and reduce crime, provide effective and efficient police service to the community, and enhance citizen and officer safety within our community. The benefits of the RTCC include real time information sharing, quick identification and apprehension of criminals, crime prevention/crime reduction, and overall increased public safety.

RTCC employees use advanced software to map and integrate various law enforcement tools such as Live911, computer aided dispatch (CAD), automated police vehicle locator (AVL), city owned and other authorized CCTV cameras, which provide the operator the opportunity in many cases to be virtually on-scene of calls for service before a call can be dispatched to officers. RTCC operators can then provide situational awareness and critical information to first responders allowing them to plan and coordinate needed resources, quickly identify and locate criminal suspects, and to effectively handle emergency situations.

The Mesa Police Department is committed to protecting individual human rights as we partner with the community to prevent and reduce crime and increase the quality of life within our community. The Mesa Police Department complies with requirements outlined in 28 CFR Part 23. Additionally, facial recognition is not integrated into any of the camera systems used by the RTCC.
