Walk, Bike & Roll to School Day
October is National Pedestrian Safety Month and we will help you celebrate National Walk, Bike and Roll to School Day every year! With your help, the Bicycle and Pedestrian Program wants to encourage students to get active and walk and bike more.
We are take the full month of October to celebrate walking events to elementary schools across Mesa. The goal is to increase walking and biking to school with a purpose -- to promote health, safety, physical activity, build community, aid in the reduction of traffic congestion during the drop off and pick up at a school and concern for the environment.
We are available to assist and support your school in planning your Walk to School Day. There are several ways to promote the efforts; You choose how big or small you want to make the event. Some ways in which we can support you are helping plan your route, providing personalize digital flyers to promote your event and coordinating support of the Mesa Police Department for your event to ensure traffic control is focused on student safety.
