Natural Gas Appliance Rebate

Don't like to wait for hot water or want to extend your swimming season? Natural gas water heaters and pool/spa heaters are the answer. 

Economy: Natural gas water heating is more efficient than electric water heating, which saves time and money. 

Efficiency: Today's gas water heaters and pool/spa heaters are more efficient than ever. Newer models require less gas to create heat so you use less gas than older models. 

Money back: Mesa gas customers are eligible for rebates from the City.

Eligible Appliances

  • Natural Gas Water Heater - $25 rebate
  • Natural Gas Pool/Spa Heater - $50 rebate

Adding gas appliances may require a larger capacity meter and in some cases, excess flow valve (EFV). These modifications are subject to labor and material fees.

Rebate Process

Step 1.Requirements

  • Applicant must be a Mesa natural gas customer with an individual meter (no master meters). Southwest Gas customers are not eligible.
  • Only homeowners or custom home builders are eligible (no builders of new TRACT homes).
  • Water heater must be tank style - 30 gallon minimum size requirement.
  • Inspection of premises by the Energy Resources staff may be required.
  • Appliances must be new and purchased by the homeowner.
  • This offer is limited to six months from appliance purchase date.
  • Appliance must be installed and operational.

Step 2.Gather Documents and Complete Application

Gather an electronic copy of the receipt/invoice showing location of purchase, date of purchase, total BTU and EER rating. This document will need to be uploaded as part of the application process.

We will mail a check to the address on application if approved. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for processing.
