Appliance Recycling
Curbside collection of appliances such as air compressors, refrigerators, dishwashers, stoves, washers/dryers, water heaters, microwaves, evaporative coolers, and more is available and must be scheduled in advance.
For customer convenience, the fee for this service is added to your monthly Mesa utility bill.
Why should I recycle my appliances?
- Safe Freon removal - Since 1992, federal law prohibits the release of ozone depleting refrigerants into the atmosphere. Freon must be first be removed from appliances by a certified technician before they can be recycled.
- Conserve natural resources - Appliances are broken down into parts and recycled accordingly.
Cost
- Mesa trash and recycling customers - $19.00 per appliance
(Residents in HOA or multi-unit communities may need to contact property manager for trash & recycling services)
- Non-Mesa customers - $28.42 per appliance
A trip charge fee of $19.00 will be assessed if items are not at the curb when the crew arrives.
Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy: If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call. Requests should be made at least 1 business day prior to scheduled pickup to avoid a $19.00 trip charge fee.
Schedule Service
Any past due account balance must be paid in full prior to requesting appliance pickup service.

Pickup preparation checklist
- Appliances must be empty, including removing all food items and containers. If the appliance is not completely empty, it will not be picked up and a trip fee will be assessed.
- For safety reasons, please select one of the options below relating to refrigerators, freezers or freezer chests, ovens, or any other appliance that may pose a hazard to children:
- Option 1: Tape refrigerator and/or freezer doors shut using strong tape.
- Option 2: Lay refrigerator and/or freezer on curb with doors face down.
