  • Date: -
  • Location: Falcon Field Airport Runway 4L/22R and Taxiways A,C & D (1-10)

Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 14 the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) will perform pavement maintenance repairs on Runway 4L/22R (north runway) as well as Taxiway Alpha (A), Taxiway Charlie (C) and all Delta taxiways (1-10) at Falcon Field Airport.

This project involves application of crack fill/seal material, application of a fog seal, and repainting pavement markings. This project is part of the statewide airport pavement management system (APMS) program, which is administered and funded by ADOT.

Work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Feb. 14 and is expected to be completed by approximately Thursday, March 2. Two taxiways will always remain open for crossovers during this project.

Unanticipated weather or technical issues could affect the project schedule, so please check NOTAMs for the current status of movement areas.

The work will be completed in phases as follows:

  • Taxiway Charlie (C) will be closed beginning 6 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14 for approximately one (1) day.
  • Runway 4L/22R (north runway) will be closed beginning 6 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15. No repetitive operations will be allowed during this time.
  •  After work on Runway 4L/22R is completed, Taxiway Alpha (A) will be closed.
  • After work on Taxiway Alpha (A) is completed, Runway 4R/22L (south runway) will be closed for approximately one (1) week to facilitate work on the Delta (D) taxiways. No repetitive operations will be allowed during this time.
  •  All pavement markings will be re-painted.
  • After the work has been completed and cured for 30 days, a second coat of paint will be applied to the pavement markings. This will require brief runway and taxiway closures. Additional notifications will be sent prior to this project phase.
