Cockpit Close-Up is a FREE event to be held 8-10 a.m. the first Saturday of each month. The next event will be held Saturday, December 2 at the airport terminal building, 4800 E. Falcon Drive.

The event will feature volunteer pilots based at Falcon Field and their private aircraft. On December 2, the featured pilot will be Dan Nelson with his Aero L-39 Albatros fighter jet. Dan is a retired airline captain. Get a close-up look and talk to the pilot about the aircraft, flight training, flight knowledge & experiences, aviation careers, etc. Questions are welcome! It's a great opportunity for those who are considering flight training or a career in aviation! 

Dan uses his jet to help bring awareness to charities that are close to his heart:

• Operation Smile
• Phoenix Children's Hospital
• St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital
• Make A Wish Foundation
