The Mesa Historic Preservation Office is creating digital Story Maps for the City’s two Heritage Neighborhoods—Lehi and Washington-Escobedo. These Story Maps will combine an interactive map with images, video, oral histories, and narrative text to guide audiences through a compelling visual journey of each neighborhood’s remarkable past.
To kick-off the development of the Washington-Escobedo Story Map, Historic Preservation Office staff will be hosting a Community Workshop on Wednesday, May 8th from 5pm to 7pm at the Escobedo at Verde Vista Apartments – Heritage Room (435 N. Hibbert). This workshop will introduce residents to the Story Map project, encourage the sharing of ideas for content, and mark the beginning of identifying and collecting historical resources. We hope to see you there!
