Cockpit Close-Up

Time: 8-10 a.m.
Location: Falcon Field Airport Terminal Building - 4800 E. Falcon Drive
Event Details:
Cockpit Close-Up is a FREE event typically held from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM on the first Saturday of each month at Falcon Field Airport. This event features volunteer pilots based at Falcon Field and their private aircraft. Questions are welcome! It's a great opportunity for those who are considering flight training or a career in aviation.
Saturday's Highlight:
Saturday, August 3, Falcon Field Airport will be featuring Red Rock Flight School and their Piper Lance and Lake Amphibian. We sat down with them and asked a few questions:
Q: What types of aircraft does your organization fly?
A: We fly Piper Cherokees 180s, Piper Archers, a Piper Lance, a Piper Aztec, and a Lake 180.
Q: Would your organization like to add aircraft to their fleet?
A: Yes, the goal is always to expand our fleet.
Q: How does your organization facilitate a love of aviation?
A: Our organization is run by individuals with a deep passion for aviation. Our owner, Jim Samuelson, is a check airman for American Airlines on the Boeing 777, and Jordie Samuelson comes from an aviation background. We specifically seek out individuals who have a desire to teach and expand their knowledge. As the saying goes, when you enjoy what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.
Q: What types of certifications/degrees does your organization offer?
A: We offer the following ratings: private pilot license, instrument rating, commercial pilot license, multi-engine add-on, certified flight instructor, certified flight instructor-instrument, high-performance/complex endorsement, and hopefully in the near future, a seaplane add-on.
