This commemoration ceremony will feature a series of activities aimed at educating the public about this little-known but significant chapter of World War II history. Special guests at the event will include family members of the rescued airmen, who will join us in honoring the memory of their loved ones and sharing their stories with attendees. Additionally, the Arizona Band Flotilla, representing the U.S, Coast Guard Auxiliary, and the Arizona Civil Air Patrol Color Guard will participate in a solemn memorial ceremony to honor the memory of those who served in Operation Halyard.
As part of the event, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a special cultural presentation by the Folklore dance group from St. Nikola Orthodox Church in Phoenix. Their performance will add an important cultural element to the commemoration, highlighting the right heritage and traditions of the Serbian people who played a crucial role in Operation Halyard.
