Mesa is known for our commitment to education. Mayor Giles remembers in the 1980s when a station wagon full of kids pulled into the Valley they were headed for Mesa because of our focus on education and great neighborhoods. Since then, our community has grown and the need for great schools and opportunities to develop a competitive workforce has grown as well.

The K-12 districts that serve our residents are outstanding but there is still work to be done to help our students succeed both before entering the K-12 system and after. They City of Mesa has partnered with Mesa Public Schools, Mesa Community College, Mesa Chamber of Commerce and others to help support our students from pre-K to the workforce with an array of programs.

These programs align with the Achieve60AZ goal of having 60 percent of Arizona adults with a postsecondary credential or degree by 2030.
