Organizational Excellence is our roadmap for improving the quality of life for Mesa through intentionally engaging employees to deliver services that meet the customer and business expectations.
The Data and Performance Team provides management and analytic consulting services to all City departments to help them effectively use performance improvement tools and best practices to achieve their desired outcomes and public purpose. The team focuses its services in three areas:
Performance Management Assisting departments with systematic approach to measure, analyze, and report on performance of the services provided by the City of Mesa. |
Continuous Improvement Helping departments continuously improve products, services, or processes using methodologies of Lean, process mapping, and behavioral insights. These efforts can seek “incremental” improvement over time or “breakthrough improvement all at once.” |
Data Analytics Using existing City data sources to generate new insights into city services and the needs they serve, and helping departments work smarter by integrating objective evidence with decision making processes. |
Benchmarking
The City of Mesa participates in the Valley Benchmark Cities Consortium, a collaborative of 13 cities in the Phoenix metropolitan area, created to share and compare information for the purpose of improving local government performance. The group produces an annual report and you can read it in the link above.
