Traffic Volume Maps

How do I find the volume at a given intersection?

These maps show the average weekday volume (number of vehicles) in thousands per 24-hour period.  To find the traffic volume at a given intersection, add together the numbers north, south, east, and west of the intersection and divide by two.  For example, the volume at Southern & Alma School is 34.9 + 21.1 + 41.4 + 19.9/2 = 58.65 or 58,650 vehicles per day.

Are the traffic volume counts taken in the year the map is published?

No.  We only count half of the streets in any given year.  For example, counts on the 2017 map were taken during 2016 and 2017.  Values shown on this map for US 60, Loop 202, Loop 101 and SR 24 are 2016 and 2017 counts provided by ADOT.  A legend is provided on each map to distinguish the year each count was conducted.  Because counts were not taken in 2004, a 2004 map was not published. Counts were taken on all streets in 2005 for the 2005 map.
