The City of Mesa may not have water restrictions right now, but saving every drop helps. And saving water means keeping more money in your pocket.

Drought and Shortage

Ways to Maximize Your Water Savings at Home

  • Know Your Numbers – Comparing how much water you use with how much you should be using is a good way to reduce consumption. These tools can help you create a water budget to manage your household usage.
  • My Utility Account – Look at your paper bill or log into the online portal to see your utility bill and how much water you use monthly (including past/historic water usage).
  • Water Calculator – Use our online ‘Know Your H2O’ tool to see how much water you and your family should be using inside and outside your home. Once you see the estimates, you can order a free water-saving kit.faucet drip
  • Find and Fix Leaks – On average, a household leak can account for more than 10,000 gallons of water wasted each year, or the amount of water needed to wash 270 loads of laundry.

  • Click to Subscribe to our Landscape Watering Reminder e-newsletter to receive monthly guidance on how much and how often to water your plants.

  • Save water outdoors – Up to 70 percent of water at home is used outdoors so there is a lot of potential for water savings.

  • Grass-to-Xeriscape Incentives
    • Residential Incentives – Ready to mow less & help with the drought? Apply to remove 500 sq ft or more of living grass, replace it with low-water-use plants and you may qualify for up to $1,100. Two levels of incentives are available: 500 - 999 square feet of grass conversion is eligible for $750, and 1,000 square feet or more is eligible for $1,000. Plus, an additional incentive up to $100 for planting trees.
    •  Commercial & HOA Incentives – If you are a business, multifamily community or HOA, we have programs for you, as well.

Note: Incentives are applicable to future projects only. Completed projects are ineligible.
